Literacy and Language Learning through ITC

Nuestro centro participa activamente en este programa europeo en los ámbitos de la educación, la formación, la juventud y el deporte para el periodo 2014-2020.

Erasmus+ es un programa único que trata de impulsar las perspectivas laborales y el desarrollo personal, además de ayudar a nuestros sistemas de educación, formación y juventud a proporcionar una enseñanza y un aprendizaje que doten a las personas de las capacidades necesarias para el mercado laboral y la sociedad actual y futura.

En España son dos las organizaciones designadas como agencias nacionales para la gestión coordinada del programa Erasmus+: el Servicio Español para la internacionalización de la Educación (SEPIE), para el ámbito de la educación y la formación; y la Agencia Nacional Española (ANE), integrada al Instituto de la Juventud (INJUVE) para el ámbito juventud. Las acciones de Erasmus+ Deporte están gestionadas directamente por la Comisión Europea a través de su Agencia Ejecutiva en el ámbito Educativo, Audiovisual y Cultural (EACEA).

 

Libro Digital


5 to 9 February 2018. 

 

Yr.5 Orchard pupils will spend 2 days working on a bi-lingual digital book. Before the study visit, pupils in both schools will learn and extend their vocabulary and grammar knowledge relating to places (town / countryside). Literacy discussion will take place regarding similarities and differences in both languages. Teacher resources will be shared via email and e-twinning. Pupils will use skype to introduce themselves and describe (physical and personality) members of their family. Collaboration: Together pupils will create a digital book with sound (Puppet pals / Go-animate) of each local area in their target language (the language they are learning). Pupils will assess each other’s, work and support each other with editing and corrections. Pupils will have discussions on how to present their ideas /work. The results will be presented to other pupils and this new resource disseminated to other teachers and placed on school websites. Ensure there are links to ICT & Literacy (poems)

 

Fue la 1ª visita de nuestros amigos londineneses a España, elaboramos un Libro Digital Bilingüe con un programa nuevo para nosotros, Book Creator. A la vez que aprendieron vocabulario, trabajaron las Nuevas Tecnologías, prácticamente jugando se dieron cuenta de que aprendían.

Ciclo del agua

The Water Cycle & Eco systems Pupils generate mind maps using research from the internet to explore what they already know at the beginning of the unit.


Pupils will learn different systems and prepare a question and answer role play for their partner school in their home language to describe a system. Pupils will need to analyze how to prepare the task and think about the language used for a non-native speaker to enhance their literacy skills. Resources will be shared though email or e-twinning.

In the host school pupils from both schools will spend 3 days preparing a film of their role plays and creating a fact file in their home language and 1 1/2 days on cultural events in the Centre of Madrid.

Each school will receive the resources in the target language to support listening and reading skills. They will need to understand how texts work, think about cognates and create clues to support understanding in the target language.  

They will create a power point presentation (including video clips) & bi-lingual fact file. Pupils will assess each other’s work and support each other with editing and corrections.  The results will be presented to other pupils and this new disseminated to other teachers and placed on school websites.

Deportes

21 to 25 May 2018. 

 

Yr5 Orchard pupils will spend 3 days working on a bi-lingual animation film about Los Deportes and 1 1/2 days on cultural events in the Centre of Madrid.

Before the study visit, pupils in both schools will learn and extend their vocabulary and grammar knowledge relating to sport activities and the body.  Literacy discussion will take place regarding similarities and differences in both languages.  They will research which sports are good for different parts of the body. Teacher resources will be shared via email and e-twinning. Pupils will use skype to present what they have been learning so far.


Collaboration: Pupils will conduct a survey in the town to see what sports adults play. In class they will create a database and analyze the popularity of sports from childhood to adulthood. They will create a bi-lingual sports fact file of which sports benefit improve certain parts of the body.  This can be added to resources for a healthy body in the general curriculum.  Pupils will assess each other’s work and support each other with editing and corrections.  The results will be presented to other pupils and this new disseminated to other teachers presented to parents and placed on school websites and in newsletters.

Esta vez trabajaron con Excell, y demostraron ser unos expertos en este área.

También compartieron risas mientras jugaban con juegos preparados con esmero por los profes de Educación Física, incluso en la piscina.

Al acabar las clases, compartieron unas horas montando a caballo en Valdemoro.

Fue un viaje inolvidable!!!

Hábitos saludables

23 to 27 June 2018.

 

Following on from the activities in C5 pupils will prepare a play to demonstrate what it means to be healthy and conversely unhealthy.  They will build up the back ground and personality of the characters - some healthy and some unhealthy.

Each school will be responsible for one type of characters and will create a story around the characters.  Pupils will be encouraged to add expressions that they have learned in the target language and will share the result of rehearsals throughout the activity via skype and keep a video diary of the progress of the play.  They will need to re-draft the script several times but also work to a deadline - preparatory skills for the world of work.


Collaboration:
They will work together to complete the play, design a simple set and publicity posters for the production which will take place for the school and parents.

Normas del colegio

5th-9th November 2018.

 

During the beginning of Autumn 1 pupils will prepare ideas of what it means to be responsible in PSHE lessons.  Planning will have taken place during the summer meeting previously.  

They will discuss the current school rules and personal responsibilities and extend their vocabulary in discussions giving reasons why, taking the opposite view during debates in order to experience a debate from both points of view.  

Some of these debates will be simultaneously filmed and skyped to the partner school.

Pupils will need to think about the simple points they would like to make and the need for turn taking so that a non-English speaker is able to understand the gist of a live debate.  

Our Spanish partners will mirror this activity.  The filmed version of the debate will be use a future resource for listening in the target language. Planning and resources leading up to visits will be share via email and e-twinning.

Collaboration:
Pupils will spend 3 days working  together to make a bi-lingual pupil training / induction video for their school that can be shown at the start of a new year or term and creating posters displaying the rules and how to politely ask for things in the target language. Pupils will be encouraged to add any rules to support pupils as part of the pupil voice policy in the school. Pupils will assess, edit and re-draft the work and support each other in the target languages. The outcomes will be presented to other pupils and disseminated to other teachers presented to parents and placed on school websites and in newsletters.
